Clean up your business pages on the web

It’s a GREAT time to grab control of your complimentary Google Places page for your business (each location if you have more than one office) and to update the information, description, photos, and videos.

Why? Because Google just gave places an upgrade – to what looks like their own page on Google+. With more graphic capacity and a more robust status options, Google Places still has one thing Facebook won’t…an SEO and Adwords-based tie-in with Google searches. Now when someone Googles cleaning services or maid service in your area, it’s the new, cool Google Places page that comes up (and your website link if you’ve invested in Adwords) along with a review count to encourage folks to click through and learn more.

Especially if your business is new, Google Places is a very natural, free way to begin developing your Social Marketing campaign, in particular your use of customer review sites. It’s a matter of planning, reviewing the results, and tweaking constantly; put a recurring appointment on your business calendar to do it once a week!
