SweepSouth seeks to revolutionize cleaning in S. Africa
Platform hopes to improve treatment of cleaners by allowing them to rate customers
Entrepreneur Aisha Pandor has founded an innovative on-demand cleaning service in South Africa. SweepSouth began operations in June 2014, after Aisha and her husband found it difficult to find a house cleaner around the holidays. At the age of 28, she quit her job and sold her house with the goal of transforming the domestic cleaning services industry. The company seeks to foster “happy homes on both sides” by changing attitudes about cleaning technicians. Like other on-demand cleaning startups, SweepSouth allows customers to provide feedback about their service. In a twist, though, they also allow the workers to rate the customers.
