Assistance League of Montgomery County’s Operation School Bell benefits
THE WOODLANDS, TX –MW Cleaners recently partnered with Assistance League of Montgomery County for Operation School Bell, a program to help disadvantaged students get new school clothes. The cleaners presented a financial donation as well as a supply of donated clothes to the operation. MW Cleaners Senior Vice Present Ron Garrett arrived at the Assistance League’s Conroe location with a large check and a van full of clothes.
“MW Cleaners collected clothing from donations all year long, and we are honored to be donating them to the Assistance League’s Thrift Store, along with this check for $1,000,” said Garrett. More than 200 items of clothing were collected and donated, and Marge Hayward, this year’s Operation School Bell chair, estimated their value could reach over $4,000 in sales at the Assistance League Thrift Store.
Founded in 1987, Operation School Bell provides new school clothing for K-12 students from low-income families. During July and August, the students attend shopping events at area retailers, and have the opportunity to shop for new clothing free of charge. Students can also receive vouchers for quality footwear at local shoe stores. Proceeds from MW Cleaner’s clothing donation will be used to purchase clothes and accessories for Operation School Bell.
