Don't Wait for Exit Interview to Find Out What Went Wrong

Employee retention programs should include Retention Interviews.

According to employee management expert Mel Kleiman,

“exit interviews are analogous to closing the barn door after the horses are out. If you want to keep your best people on-board and happy, how about getting together with them every four to six months for a Retention or ‘Stay’ Interview?”

Whether you call it a Retention Interview, Stay Interview, Performance Review, or anything else, create a unique time for each employee to be both challenged and rewarded for thinking about their role in the life of the company and the company’s role in their lives.
