A Homejoy spokesperson has confirmed that Homejoy is “pausing” its operations in Canada – specifically Toronto and Vancouver – over the next few weeks. The company will continue to maintain relationships with cleaning technicians during the pause, but has not yet identified publicly what continuing service or support it will be offering to existing users – technicians or clients – of the platform in Canada.
Homejoy says the reason for the pause is to enable stronger focus on its expansion in “other markets.”
Currently, Handy is Homejoy’s chief competitor in the Canadian market, and German startup Helpling recently launched in Canada as well.
