May 7, Employers Must Use New I-9 Form

The Form I-9, issued by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), is used to confirm identity and employment eligibility for all individuals hired in the United States. USCIS updated the form on March 8, 2013.

After about a 60-day grace period during which USCIS accepted older versions of the form, beginning May 7, 2013, only the form dated 03/08/13 will be accepted. To check the version of the form you are using, look for the revision date on the lower left corner of the form.
