We sat down with Cleaning Business Today‘s resident techie, Tom Stewart, to learn more about the mobile apps he uses every day on his smartphone and tablet to increase his productivity while he’s away from the office, as well as apps he would recommend.
1 Mobile MSDS
Kelleher, Helmrich and Associates (KHA) provides software and services that help businesses manage their MSDS sheets. The firm’s award-winning mobile app provides on the go access to over 4,000 chemicals and products used in a variety of industries. Users can save frequently referenced apps in a “My Favorites” binder on the app, and there are also options to share the information you find via email and text.

2 HomeAdvisor Pro
HomeAdvisor Pro is a mobile application for HomeAdvisor professional members. The mobile app offers access to many of the same features for which HomeAdvisor is known, including the ability to track and manage leads generated through the service. The mobile access also offers the ability to reach out to potential customers by phone and email. Additionally, users can use the app to map out driving directions to customers’ homes.

3 Tango
Billed as a social networking app, Tango’s built-in video calling features make it the perfect way to provide an extra set of eyes and ears to your employees in the field. You can use the application’s mobile or desktop versions to communicate with field staff who may have questions about something they’ve come across while working remotely.

4 QuickBooks Mobile
QuickBooks Mobile is a companion app* to the popular accounting software we all know. With the mobile app, you can create and send customer invoices and estimates, as well as view the most up to date information on customer balances.
*QuickBooks Mobile is compatible with QuickBooks Pro, QuickBooks Premier and QuickBooks Enterprise 2011 and later. It also works with QuickBooks Online.
