Castle Keepers has joined the Cleaning For A Reason Foundation, which gives women undergoing treatment for cancer one less worry by providing free housekeeping services

When facing a life-threatening illness, keeping the house clean fast falls to the bottom of the to-do list. That’s why Castle Keepers has joined the Cleaning For A Reason Foundation, which gives women undergoing treatment for cancer one less worry by providing free housekeeping services.

Castle Keepers is the only Charleston-area cleaning company that is working with Cleaning For A Reason. It will use its new chemical-free cleaning process as part of the program.

“Women facing cancer have enough on their minds without having to worry about cleaning their house,” says Janice Stewart, vice president and owner of Castle Keepers. “This is a way we can really help. Plus, we’ll be cleaning their homes without the use of chemicals, giving them a clean, disinfected house without the worry of being exposed to chemical-based cleaning products.”

Here’s how it works: The foundation’s call center screens and qualifies requests for services before passing them onto Castle Keepers for service. The foundation matches qualified patients, and Castle Keepers provides four free housecleaning visits to each woman in the program as long as she is undergoing treatment for cancer. Participating cleaning companies commit to servicing at least two free clients per month and contribute monthly financial pledges that are used to help sustain the base operations of the program.

The Cleaning For A Reason Foundation is a Texas-based nonprofit organization founded by Deborah Sardone, a owner of Buckets & Bows Maid Service near Dallas. Castle Keepers is one of more than 470 partners offering free services to women throughout the United States and Canada.
