Congratulations to Lau Lani M. Smith of North Charleston, who won the Clean My House! conest. Several great entries came in, and Mrs. Smith was selected as the deserving winner.
Here’s her story:
“I’m nominating my house for entry into your contest. I recently started back working full time since November. I have not worked full time in almost 10 years. Being home, I was able to keep my house somewhat clean. I haven’t been able to juggle working, being a wife, mother perfectly now and my house shows. It has become increasingly worse over the last few months. My poor husband and three kids seem to deal with it.
“But it is unfair to everyone, and I just don’t know where to start. To make matters worse, when my husband was hospitalized back in April due to diabetes, my mother-in-law added more stress to an already over-stressed situation. She made her way into my house, without permission and saw the mess. Instead of just helping out without saying a word, she decided to let me know how the house was unacceptable, and that I was not taking care of my motherly duties in so many words. This really took away from my dignity. So please help me with a fresh start with a clean house to go with the new job. My family and I would be ever so appreciative.”
Castle Keepers is happy to give the Smith family a clean start. “Tough things happen to all of us, and when they do, cleaning falls to the bottom of the priority list,” says Tom Stewart, who owns Castle Keepers with is wife, Janice. “But when your house is cleaned up, you feel better. In many ways, it’s a new beginning.”
