Founded in 2013, Cleaning Business Today (CBT) was created by industry leaders Tom Stewart and Derek Christian, who shared a vision of providing cleaning professionals with practical, business-focused education and insights. At a time when industry information was largely fragmented between trade associations, supplier publications, and general business resources, CBT emerged as an independent voice dedicated to helping cleaning business owners build stronger companies.
Today, Cleaning Business Today is led by Tom Stewart, who continues to guide its editorial vision and long-term mission.

Founder, author, and industry advocate
Tom Stewart is the founder and owner of Castle Keepers House Cleaning, a nationally recognized residential cleaning company based in South Carolina. Throughout his career, Tom has championed the idea that residential cleaning is not simply a service business, it is a profession deserving of standards, education, innovation, and respect.
For more than three decades, Tom has been an advocate for elevating the professionalism of the residential cleaning industry through better systems, better training, and better outcomes for both cleaning professionals and the clients they serve
