Some recent news seems to indicate that beg bug activity here locally is on the rise:

And hopefully you’re on the alert when booking hotels. Many online booking sites have bed bug alerts, among others, to help consumers stay safe and healthy.
But what do you really need to know about bed bugs? And how do you know that the information you find online is factual, accurate, and relevant to your area of the country?
Last week, the Environmental Protection Agency launched its new Bed Bug Information Clearinghouse where it reviews and approves (or disapproves) submitted information and guidance on how to identify, prevent, or remediate a bed bug infestation.
Currently, all of the information included in the clearinghouse comes from
- Federal Agencies
- State and Local Governments
- Extensions Services
- Universities
And there are no product or service endorsements from pest control services or misinformation from unsubstantiated blogs.
Perhaps the part of this new clearinghouse that Castle Keepers likes the best is that it has a special section on non-chemical control for bed bugs, which focuses on heat-based treatments.
