Two executives have resigned from Homejoy in the past 5 months.

Since January 2015, two of Homejoy’s executive leaders have resigned:

  • In January 2015, COO Xiao Wei Chan resigned to join the Porch.com team.
  • Most recently, CFO Mark Vranesh resigned after less than a year, having previously held both CFO and CAO positions for Zynga.

These executive departures follow the “halt” of operations in Europe and Canada, leaving only its US holdings in full swing.

While the on-demand pioneer Homejoy may be experiencing some uncertainty, its competitors are thriving among a growing consumer market which privileges the transparency and convenience of mobile booking and on-demand services: Handy, Helpling, Porch, and TaskRabbit, among them.
